In-person NBA 2K League competitions will take place at the new NBA 2K League Studio, which will be located at The Pavilion at Pan Am in downtown Indianapolis. Due to the studio's ingenious design, simultaneous in-person games can be played on two circular competition stages. The broadcast will be able to seamlessly switch between games in real time, allowing them to capture the most exciting action.
It all starts on Wednesday, March 23 with the amateur qualifying event for the Coinbase NBA2KL 3v3 SLAM OPEN, the first of three tournaments in the new Coinbase NBA2KL 3v3 BLACKTOP SERIES. The season will culminate on Saturday, August 20 and Saturday, August 27 with the NBA2KL 3v3 and 5v5 Finals, which will be held as part of the NBA2KL Championships on Saturday, August 20 and Saturday, August 27 respectively. Tickets for in-person games will be available in the coming weeks, with more information to come.

Amateur teams from around the world will be able to compete alongside NBA 2K League teams for a share of the prize pool in the 3v3 tournament this season, which is a new opportunity for the 2 million players who play NBA 2K every day to compete in NBA 2K League competition this season. This year's Coinbase NBA2KL 3v3 BLACKTOP SERIES, which includes the SLAM OPEN, SWITCH OPEN, and STEAL OPEN, will serve as a complement to the traditional 5v5 BANNER CHAIN Powered by ATT tournaments (THE TIPOFF, THE TURN, AND THE TICKET), which will take place in November. A total of 24 NBA 2K League teams will compete in the SLAM OPEN and SWITCH OPEN tournaments, as well as North American amateur teams that qualified through the tournaments' qualifying events, and Community Teams, which will be selected by the league and comprised of top players from the 2K community and social media influencers. It will include the 14 NBA 2K League teams that have not yet qualified for the NBA2KL 3v3 Playoffs, as well as one amateur international team from each of the European and Asia-Pacific regions that qualified through separate international qualifying events. As a result of their performance in the previous competitions throughout the season, NBA 2K League teams, amateur teams, and community teams will be eligible to compete in the NBA2KL 3v3 Playoff tournaments.

THE BANNER CHAIN IS AN INSTRUCTIONThe NBA2KL 5v5 Playoffs and Finals, which are sponsored by ATT, will continue to feature only teams from the NBA 2K League. In THE TIPOFF and THE TURN, all 24 teams will compete against one another. In order to qualify for the NBA2KL 5v5 Playoffs, the top five teams from each conference must finish first in their respective conferences during the regular season. During THE TICKET, the 14 remaining teams will compete against one another, with the winning teams from each conference earning the 11th and 12th spots in the postseason.
For the first time in league history, following the completion of the SLAM OPEN, THE TIPOFF, the SWITCH OPEN, and THE TURN, each NBA 2K League team will compete in five additional 3v3 and 5v5 matches that will determine which teams will automatically qualify for the NBA2KL Championships and which teams will be seeded in the STEAL OPEN and THE TICKET.
