A Look At All 32 Updated Diablo 2 Item Sets Visuals

It's wonderful to know that the team behind the development is working hard to keep the majority of these item sets as closely as they could be to the originals.

Diablo 2 Resurrected has been the subject of much discussion. We also know that the development team has been making tweaks to weapons and armor in the game. This includes the Diablo 2 Resurrected item sets.

Over the past couple of weeks, we have been busy updating the Diablo 2 Resurrected section on our website to reflect the visual changes that are coming to the game. This includes updating all the items in the Diablo 2 section.

One of the things we were most interested in checking out was the sets of items and the way they appear on the characters both in the avatar screen for menus and in-game. Thanks to PureDiablo community moderator Dredd, we managed to add these brand new images to the item set pages in the D2R section.

Diablo 2 Resurrected Item Set Tweaking?

It's wonderful to know that the team behind the development is working hard to keep the majority of these item sets as closely as they could be to the originals. These images are from the Alpha. It is possible that the appearance of some combinations of these sets may change over time, based on community feedback.

It's unlikely that they are significantly changed. Dredd mentioned that there are some things that do not appear on the avatar screen, but are visible in-game. These discrepancies could be sorted once the game releases depending on whether they think it's crucial that the avatar screen reflect exactly what's going on in the game.

For instance. the aura attributed to Tal Rasha's Wrappings is missing in the avatar screen. The avatar screen doesn't show the vampiric form which the Trang-Oul Avatar set gives however this is to be expected.

These issues aren't just restricted to specific sets. Ethereal objects like Titan's Revenge, such as Titan's Revenge, aren't as clear in game as they ought to appear on the avatar screen.

However, armors may have reflections added to them. As you can see in the photo on the left, the character of M'avina is sitting near the blue flames at the waypoint. They reflect off the armor.

Another illustration of how the team is keeping things as true to the originals as they can is the Hawkmail unique body armor, which is still green in colour.

As you can see, not just are sets being recreated as accurately as they can, but also weapons and armors are carefully examined.

Below is a complete list of the 32 items in the set. Each page contains a picture that shows the avatar in comparison to the appearance in game to give players an understanding of how things look when compared to the avatar.

Diablo 2 Item Sets Overview

When worn together When worn together, Diablo 2 Item Sets have green names and pre-set statistics. While certain set items can be very powerful, many are no better than rare or good magic items. To optimise the use of Item Sets make sure you wear the top pieces, or selectively combine two or more pieces from the same set to benefit from set bonuses that are partial as well as hidden item bonuses. Items from the set are shown as green items.

Item Set Bonus

As previously mentioned, each item set includes set bonuses that show up when more than one item is used. Each item in the item sets also have their own hidden set bonuses depending on how many pieces you own. So, you will get both the standard set bonuses as well as the hidden ones. They are highlighted in italic text on each item.

Set bonuses in partial amounts stack

You'll get a bonus wearing 3 pieces if you own two or more.

Full set bonuses stack on top of the partial bonuses. Example: If there is a partial bonus of +40 Life and a full bonus of +40 Mana, with the complete set, you will receive both +40 life and mana.

Diablo 2 Item sets Summary

Below is a list of all Diablo 2 item sets that are available in Diablo 2 or Diablo 2 Resurrected. Be aware of the requirements and specifications for each set of items as outlined in this summary.

The term "iLevel" refers to the amount at which the Monster has to be in order to drop these items. (These numbers can be deceivingly low, since many of the extraordinary and elite types of items have a higher level than the clvl allocated to the set. Monsters need to be able to remove the base item to gain that set item.

cLevel is the bare minimum level of character you must have to reach in order to be able to use the entire set. Some Diablo 2 item sets have the same cLevel across every item in the set. Other sets have different cLevel for each item.

Some Diablo 2 item sets are best suited to specific classes. These can be seen in the column for Classes.

Diablo 2 item sets were different for the Lord of Destruction expansion and the original. All item sets in Diablo 2 Resurrected have become relevant to the remaster since they contain LoD.

Item set Failings

The Diablo 2 Item Sets were designed to be the most effective feature of Diablo 2. The whole set would include noticeable effects, such as diverse designs for your character as well as enormous bonus features.

This very cool idea is not implemented in Diablo 2, as Blizzard admits. In 95% of the instances sets aren't strong enough to warrant wearing by themselves. The bonus sets aren’t as good either. There are some improvements in the Lord of Destruction expansion, which are in Diablo 2 Resurrected.

The Lord of Destruction, which is part of Diablo 2 Resurrected it has substantially upgraded 16 of the 16 original sets by adding substantial bonus sets that are only partially available. The items' types are the same, and none of those old sets can be used to propel a combat character in hell or nightmares however they could be helpful to spellcasters.
