Where to Farm Hearty Bass In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

In Tears of the Kingdom, players need Hearty Bass to improve their armour, but they have to look in the sky to find them.

Even though there were fish in Breath of the Wild that had never been seen before, some of them have returned to the new Hyrule in Tears of the Kingdom. Hearty Bass are good to cook because they will help Link get better. In other cases, they are used to improve certain sets of armour.

Players might think that they need to go to Hyrule's rivers or lakes to find Hearty Bass. In a strange twist, players are more likely to find them on the Sky Islands. In Tears of the Kingdom, there are two guaranteed ways to get Hearty Bass, but you'll need the paraglider and a lot of strength to get there.

Hearty Bass Locations

Hearty Bass could be found on Mount Rhoam or near Hateno Tower in Breath of the Wild. In Tears of the Kingdom, however, Hearty Bass homes have been moved to Sky Islands' West Hebra Sky Archipelago and Necluda Sky Archipelago. You can only get to these places by flying and using the Skyview Tower. But you need the Zora Armour to get to the Necluda Sky Archipelago.

Link can't use Remote Bombs like he could in Breath of the Wild, so the best way to catch a Hearty Bass in Tears of the Kingdom is to shoot it with an arrow. Then jump in and use the A button to get them. Link can also jump in the water and swim towards the Hearty Bass, but if he does this, the Hearty Bass might swim away if he gets too close.

DO NOT "fish" for the Hearty Bass with Bomb Flowers or Bomb Arrows. Instead, they will turn into Roasted Bass and can't be cooked anymore. So, the result of "Full Recovery" will no longer work for them.

West Hebra Sky Archipelago

This is the easier place to get to between the two Hearty Bass spots. You can get to this island in three ways (-3887, 2787, 0709):

Use the Rospro Pass Skyview Tower (-3684, 2343, 0233) to get up into the air and paraglide towards the island.
Fly west from the Wind Temple.
Players can warp to the Ijo-o Shrine, which is on the same island as the Hearty Bass if they have unlocked it.

This Sky Island has two ponds, and each of them has two Hearty Bass. Before you leave, make sure to check both of them. Obviously, players should also turn on the Ijo-o Shrine if they haven't already. In the future, this will set up a Travel Point to the Hearty Bass.

Necluda Sky Archipleago

The Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower can be used to get to the island in the Necluda Sky Archipelago. Fly in the direction of 2112, -2621, 1263. People will notice that this island has a waterfall and that Link can't get to it from the Skyview Tower.

Go to Zora's Domain and begin the main quest Sidon of the Zora. To get the Zora Armour, Link will have to go back to Yona in Zora's Domain. She will need one Ancient Arowana, which can be found in the water near the Temple of Time on the Great Sky Island, which is where the story of The One Thousand and One Nights begins. Once she has this, she will give Link's fixed Zora Armour back to him. Link needs to be able to swim up waterfalls to get to the Necluda Sky Archipelago, and the Zora Armour lets him do that.

If Link wears the Zora Armour and swims into the stream, he will swim up to the island. There are Hearty Bass, Ancient Arowana, Tireless Frogs, and Hot-Footed Frogs in the pond on this island. Sunset Fireflies can also be caught here at night.

Where to Use Hearty Bass?

When Hearty Bass is turned into a meal, it gives you Full Recovery and Temporary Hearts. Temporary Hearts are yellow hearts that Link gets in addition to his normal heart count. You can't get them better by feeding them. The only way to "recover" them is to eat another food with the Temporary Heart effect.

At the Great Fairy Fountains, Hearty Bass is used for the last time. The Zora Set (Zora Armour, Zora Helmet, and Zora Greaves) needs them. To reach level 3, players will need 3 Hearty Bass per piece to play free games, 5 Blue Lizalfos Horns, and 3 Lizalfos Tails.

The Nintendo Switch can play Tears of the Kingdom.
