Pinkel stands at the podium and talks in a measured, uninviting tone and the very last thing it screams is excitement.Then the season begins, and the results are staggering. Two years ago, Mi souri played in the SEC Championship Game and was a win away from playing for the national title.Last year Mi souri played in the SEC Championship Game, and was a win away from making everyone finally take notice.Maybe one day well be recognized, Mi souri quarterback Maty Mauk says.Then again, maybe they wont. And why would that be such a bad thing? Theres nothing like the motivation it carries.Pinkel says he has no idea where Mi souri has been predicted to finish in the East Division the last two years (sixth and fourth), then is quick to remind anyone who wants to listen there werent many Wednesday that Mi souri had the fifth-most players drafted by the NFL in April.We have to be doing something right, Pinkel said.What theyre doing is recruiting and developing players better than anyone in the conference.
