Recently, the Beijing Consumers Association and the Beijing Sunshine Consumer Data Research Institute announced the results of a comparative test of five popular home projector products on the market.
Test items
Projection brightness (light output), color gamut, contrast ratio, inherent resolution, keystone correction, auto-focus, screen alignment (into the screen), intelligent obstacle avoidance, anti-eye, near-field voice, far-field voice, voice recognition accuracy, main chip, memory (eMMC), memory (DDR) and other 15 items.
Picture quality
In terms of picture quality, the projection brightness (light output), color gamut, contrast ratio, and intrinsic resolution of five projector products are tested in four items according to the requirements of standard SJ/T11346-2015.
Projection brightness refers to the intensity of light output from the projector product to the screen, but also the brightness of the projected image. Under normal circumstances, the higher the brightness of the projector, the brighter the image of the same size projected onto the screen, and the clearer the image.
The test results show that all five samples' projection brightness is the value measured under the normal playback screen conditions of the sample.
Color gamut refers to the range of colors, measuring the maximum color gamut area projected by the three primary colors (red, blue, and green) as a percentage of the area against the entire spectral track of the CIE1976 uniform color space, the higher the value, the better and more vivid the relative picture quality.
Contrast ratio is the ratio of the brightness of the brightest area to the darkest area in the projector's output image, which can affect the projector's gray level performance and color level performance, generally speaking, the higher the contrast ratio, the more vivid and three-dimensional the picture will be.
The inherent resolution, also called standard resolution or physical resolution, is determined by the projector's internal display chip, referring to the maximum clarity the projector can present the picture, expressed in horizontal pixel dots x vertical pixel dots, the higher the number of dots, the clearer and finer the picture.
The test results show that three of the five samples are 1920*1080 and two are 3840*2160 (not attainable by the internal display chip, achieved by digital micro-lens high-speed flip).
Functional experience
In terms of functional experience (interaction), the 5 projector products were subjected to functional verification of 5 items: keystone correction, auto-focus, screen alignment (into the screen), intelligent obstacle avoidance, and anti-shot-eye.
Test results show that the five products tested have the above five functions, up, down, left and right movement can achieve automatic correction and focus; screen alignment (into the screen) and intelligent obstacle avoidance function for the office staff a strong experience, convenient and fast; anti-eye function, as long as the human body into the sensing area, will automatically reduce the screen brightness to prevent direct glare.
Voice function
In terms of voice function, the five projector products for near-field voice (1m), far-field voice (5m), and voice recognition accuracy of three items of functional verification.
Test results show that the five products tested have voice function, and near-field and far-field recognition accuracy rates of up to 100%.
Configuration
In terms of configuration, three information checks were conducted on the main chip, memory (eMMC), and memory (DDR) of the five projector products.
In terms of the main chip, 4 products use the MT9669 chip and 1 product uses the MTK9669 chip.
Memory (eMMC), 4 products are 64GB, and 1 is not marked.
Memory (DDR): 3 products are 4GB, 1 product is 3GB, and 1 product is not marked.
As for the projection light sources, 3 products are LED and 2 products are laser.
1. Brightness is not the higher the better
Choose the appropriate brightness according to the use of environmental conditions, not the higher the brightness, the better the effect, and the intensity of ambient light, and the size of the image have a great relationship. The stronger the ambient light, the human eye perceives the brightness of the image as relatively dull, long time to watch the image of too high a brightness will make the human eye fatigue, and cause some damage. How to make the projector brighter? Usually, the higher the brightness, the more expensive, simply too high brightness, but also make the picture quality reduced.
2. Consider the size of the installation room space
Should consider the size of the installation room space, you can mount the projector on the ceiling, and mount the projector on the wall. The projector specifications selected are different, and the best brightness required is also different. If the projection screen is below 80 inches, the brightness is recommended to be below 1000 lumens; if the projection screen is above 80 inches, the brightness is recommended to be above 1000 lumens. Consumers should communicate with customer service before purchasing to use the area, and lighting conditions, to avoid the purchase can not be installed and used.
3. Concerned about the standard resolution
Should be concerned with the standard resolution of the publicity, as the projector can present the screen with maximum clarity, the maximum compatible resolution refers to the projector can play the resolution of the picture or video, and the screen resolution has nothing to do with it.
4. Consider the interactive experience
To consider the situation of family members, for the elderly and children at home, it is recommended to try to choose a projector with anti-eye and voice functions, to avoid harm to children walking to the projector to look directly at the lens, as well as the cumbersome operation to the elderly inconvenience.
