Exit Poll Only school that matches Alabama is Ohio

Each week this season we'll tap into the minds of some of college football's best players from over the years in our weekly Exit Poll. This week, Sporting News asks about SEC quarterbacks, who can beat Bama and ruling the NCAA for day.Q: Which player are you most interested to watch Week 1?Anthony McFarland: Jadeveon Clowney. There is something to be said for being the consensus best player in the country in the preseason Bryce Perkins Jersey and then living up to all the hype. He starts the season with an X on his back. Now the question remains: Can he deliver all season long?POWER RANKINGS: | | | | Jake Plummer: I'm interested in seeing how and if Johnny Manziel performs in Week 1. It will be nice to see him play again and I hope he won't have too much negativity surrounding him once the season starts. If he does not play, then I must say I can't wait to see (Oregon's) De'Anthony Thomas. He should get the ball more and you never know what he will do once he touches the ball.Butch Woolfolk: Texas AM Heisman Trophy quarterback Johnny Manziel. He is probably the most unusual Heisman winner in the past 20 years. How does a guy perform with the discipline required to be a top QB, who apparently has no discipline off the field? Will he maintain his greatne s or be a "One-Hit Wonder"?Jared Zabransky: Sammy Watkins of Clemson. Much like Johnny Football, there are many questions surrounding previous mishaps and how the following performances will be affected by these mishaps. Watkins was a frontrunner for the Heisman in 2012 and is arguably the most explosive player in college football. He will be tested against a very good Georgia Bulldog football team Week 1. Heisman or bust?Q: Which team has the best chance to dethrone two-time defending BCS champion Alabama?Plummer: Terrell Burgess Jersey I think that Oregon or Stanford have the best chance to defeat the Tide. Georgia looks strong, but I am tired of seeing the same SEC teams playing for the national title each year.McFarland: You have to have a veteran QB and a good defense to beat Bama. I think there are only three teams capable of doing that: LSU, Georgia and Ohio State.Woolfolk: The only school in the NCAA that can match Alabama in its superior coaching and even come close to its talent on the field is Ohio State.Zabransky: This is a tough one. It's between two teams -- both in the SEC -- and one is on the schedule, the other Alabama will most likely face in the SEC Championship Game. AM has a shot, but I believe that having two weeks to prepare for AM gives Nick Saban and that defense too much of an advantage. Georgia has the best shot if/when they play them in the SEC Championship Game -- that's if Georgia can retool a defense that lost two elite linebackers and seven other starters. I believe that Georgia has the best chance but I don't give them much of a chance.MORE: | | Q: The SEC coaches voted Georgia's Aaron Murray as the conference's first-teamer at quarterback. If you could have Murray, Texas AM's Johnny Manziel or Alabama's AJ McCarron for a single Jalen Ramsey Jersey season, who would you choose?Woolfolk: Aaron Murray. Manziel is suspect as a person to lead his team to succe s, and AJ McCarron's succe s is due to the awesome list of players he has had around him. McCarron is a decent QB in a great system. We've seen many of them before in the NCAA. Tim Tebow comes to mind.Plummer: No doubt I would take Johnny Manziel. He is more dynamic than any other player in college football. He is electrifying on the field and can turn a bad play into a SportsCenter highlight multiple times in one game. Take him off the team and the Aggies would struggle to win seven games.Zabransky: I believe the coaches were presented by a situation and made the right choice (Murray). If I was a coach and this was something I had to vote on I would've done the same.McFarland: I'll take AJ McCarron because he has been there and done that. He has won back-to-back championships and delivered in the biggest moments in the biggest games. A veteran QB can make up for a lot of things both coaching-wise and leadership-wise.Q: You're the NCAA president for a day and can make one change. What would it be?Zabransky: Players should be compensated for their impact on the college football world and it's a travesty that this isn't the case yet. Why are these billion-dollar television contracts being signed and the coaches contracts year-over-year breaking records and players -- typically the ones directly responsible for the succe s of the coaches -- not seeing any of this Jeremiah Kolone Jersey compensation? In the case of someone like Texas AM, you can point to two people directly responsible for last year's succe s, Kevin Sumlin and Johnny Manziel. One is greatly compensated and the other, in one play, could die. You play a brutal sport, risk everything, draw enormous crowds who pay hundreds of dollars to sit in a seat, buy peanuts and popcorn and your jersey and who reaps the financial benefit? The NCAA, the university and the coaches.Plummer: I would change the amount of money the coaches get. It's gotten out of hand. Players receive a free education, which is nice, but coaches get millions and use the players to generate this revenue while the players get an education. Yes, an education is pricele s, but while their coaches live in mansions and drive Mercedes Benzes, the players live in apartments with other players and struggle to buy a pizza on a free night. The balance is way off -- bring the coaches' salaries down.Woolfolk: The graduation rate of athletes at some of the biggest football powers is a Darious Williams Jersey joke. It's NCAA college football's dirty little secret. Football practices, weight training, treatments, travel and extra film se sions required by them, robs the student-athlete from quality education time that a normal student has. It's a recipe that has promoted the farce and the ongoing statistical disaster. The remedy: I would require the schools to continue to pay for athletes' education after their eligibility is completed, up to a maximum of two years.McFarland: I would come up with a rule to pay players. I realize all the i sues with Title IX; however, I still think that the NCAA makes enough money to be able to take care of all the players.FROM SN'S MATT HAYES: | | Our Exit Poll panelists:Anthony "Booger" McFarlandMcFarland was a first-team SEC and All-American noseguard in 1998 for the Tigers.
