How to Turn Off Location Services and Stop Your iPhone Apps From Tracking You

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Adjusting local settings to protect privacy can be confusing and difficult for the average user. This gives you control over what Apple and app makers know about your location. Many developers do, but reliable and proven developers, such as https://apps.apple.com/us/app/call-recorder-icall/id1447098963, do not use such methods. When you first turn on your iOS device, it asks if you want to turn on location services, which can be useful for apps like Google Maps or tagging your location on social media.

Many presses on and never look back. Who has time to review and adjust local settings? you do It may seem intimidating, but with a few simple taps, you can control your location data and give Apple and its software developers exactly the information they need to run their apps and services.

Turn off location services

If you want to turn off location services completely, go to Settings Privacy Location services and turn off location services at the top of the screen. But be careful while doing this because most of the services you use every day will be disabled. For example, photos don't have a location added when you take them, map apps can't direct you somewhere, and Uber or Lyft can't pinpoint your location. Turning off location services can help you conserve device battery life and maintain the highest level of privacy on your smart devices, but it hurts your overall user experience.

Disable location for specific apps

Instead of the default option, adjust location permissions for individual apps in Settings Privacy Location Services. Select an application from the list and set the access permission according to your comfort level. As of iOS 14, app location services have four options:

- Never guarantees that app users will never be tracked by location services.

- Ask next time will ask every time you open the app how you want to proceed: Allow once, Allow during use, or Don't allow.

- While in use tells the app to only use location tracking when it's actively on screen, either in the app or via the currently supported iOS screen widgets.

- Allows an app to always track the location of an iOS device, even when the app is not actively being used.

If you like apps that use location information but feel uncomfortable knowing exactly where you are, turn off the exact location and the app will only know your approximate location, which should be enough for most apps and services.
